Dear Senior Editor Wasserman:

What the heck are you smoking today?...You are off your rocker!! As an Arkansan, your support for the weenie Billy Boy is pathetic...I would have Bush ANY day in the White House over your beloved sicko, phony baloney, hypocrite liar "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton!!

Get real. You are living in the 60's just like all your other liberal buddies.....the Me Me generation of "if it feels good do it " is trying to belittle conservatives, Christians and anyone else who makes you feel guilty for living an immoral life style. Sorry you just can't figure it out. THE real truth will set you free.....that is why Bush can lead..... and you can't!! Ask the boys in the military who they would rather have as commaner- in -chief and then just sit back and relax. The landing on the carrier was peanuts compared to the extravagance of the Clinton administrations for 8 LONG years. The only way Clinton knows how to fly is smoking it..............

There is no floundering. A whole lot of wishful thinking on your part won't make it so either.

thank you harvey wasserman - great essay. will be emailing this number to many.

one of the better tying together of a bunch of different elements i've seen lately.

mighty thoughtful.
Thank you Mr Wasserman for the outstanding article--I'm 70 and in all my memory no Pres has ever been like Bush--He has lied about everything--I blame the US press for not bringing these lies out in the open--the Brits are holding Blair's feet to the fire--Has anyone checked what Bush is doing to North Korea? what he is doing is the most reckless approch he has adopted to North Korea since comming into office--and Afghanistan is a hair breath from sliding back into warlords--Iran? Let me tell you what it is really about--Bush is in the process of installing a US regime that will privatize the Middle East oil--so it can be turned over to US energy corporations--Kenny Boy of Enron you will never go to jail--but bring a bus load of cash to the 2004 election--Mr Wasserman we cannot have 4 more years of this man--perhaps Old Europe will help get rid of him--haha One can only hope thanks again for the great article--

Hi there,

I just wanted to say the article, "Truth is the weapon of Bush's self-destruction: the Superpower of Peace has the ultimate force", by Harvey Wasserman was great! I don't think I've ever seen so much truth in a single article!

Thanks,

CPT Iraq Team Report, June 17, 2003

The CPT delegation arrived back in Baghdad after spending 2 days in Basrah, southern Iraq. Team members who had been in Basrah before the recent war were shocked by the extent of the damage caused by U.S./UK bombing of the city.

Many commercial buildings, hotels, and residential areas had been heavily hit. However, they also noted that there were far fewer troops on the streets than in Baghdad and that the soldiers and civilians were more relaxed. On the way back to Baghdad, the delegation attempted to visit Ur, the birthplace of Abraham. However they were denied entry as the site has now been taken over for a U.S. military base. They could see that the famous ziggurat at the site has been defaced. The delegation also stopped at the place on the highway where CPTer George Weber was killed in a road accident on Jan. 6, 2003. Team members Anne Montgomery and Peggy Gish, and Iraqi drivers Sattar and Ismail, who had been with George at the time of the accident, led in a joint service of remembrance.

Early summer has brought a flurry of public discussion about a topic previously confined to political margins -- the possibility of impeaching President George W. Bush. The idea is still far from the national media echo chamber, but some rumblings are now audible as people begin to think about the almost unthinkable.

A few generations of Americans are apt to view impeachment as an extreme step. One factor has been John F. Kennedy's widely read 1956 book "Profiles in Courage," which captured a Pulitzer Prize. The book devoted a chapter to lauding Sen. Edmund G. Ross of Kansas, whose "not guilty" vote prevented the Senate from convicting an impeached president, Andrew Johnson, on May 26, 1868.

In real life, Ross -- who promptly put the squeeze on President Johnson for a series of patronage appointments -- was hardly the idealist that Kennedy's book cracked him up to be. But the chapter's melodrama popularized a negative image of impeachment.

That outlook was especially strong for nearly 20 years, until a few of President Richard Nixon's lies caught up with him. During
Dear Arab Americans of Central Ohio, CAIR-Ohio, and other community activists:

Hiba Nasser (of CAIR-Ohio & Muslim Women's Network) brought to the attention of community activists that the Arab-American Civil Rights Association (in Michigan) is organizing a march to protest Meijer's violation of civil rights of Arab people in Westland, Michigan (see below). Please boycott Meijer in solidarity with the Arab-American Civil Rights Association (Westland, MI) and let Meijer know that you are boycotting it until it stops its discrimination against Arab people. You can call 1-800-543-3704 (toll-free) to let Meijer know about your opinion (Meijer's contact information is listed at -- if you are a journalist, please check as well). Tell Meijer that you stand by the Arab-American Civil Rights Association, that you will not tolerate anti-Arab discrimination by Meijer, and that you will not patronize Meijer until it stops its anti-Arab practice.

AUSTIN, Texas -- My, my, my, the great Iraqi Gold Rush is on, and who should be there at the front of the line, right along with Halliburton and Bechtel, but our old friends at WorldCom, perpetrator of the largest accounting fraud in American history.

WorldCom, shortly to become MCI, has been given a contract worth $45 million in the short term to build a wireless phone network in Iraq. I learned via The Associated Press that Washington Technology, a trade newspaper that follows computing-related sales to the U.S. government, "found WorldCom jumped to eighth among all federal technology contractors in 2002, with $772 million in government sales." And that is only counting the deals in which WorldCom is the primary contractor. It is actually getting much more as a subcontractor.

The Securities and Exchange Commission recently reached a settlement with WorldCom, fining the company $500 million for its $11 billion defrauding of investors. The company did not have to admit any guilt. "The $500 million is in a sense laundered by the taxpayers," Tom Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government Waste, told AP.
