Saturday, March 11, 11am, Wadsworth Memorial Park, 274 Grandview Ave., Wadsworth, Ohio

Ladies, gentlemen, non-binarians, and everyone in between, lend me your ears!

I am proud to present my very first entirely self-promoted charity event coming to Wadsworth next month. Spread the news. Share it far, share it wide, share it to the ever-loving moon! Wadsworth’s first Rock-n-Roll Drag Queen Story Hour is going to be an epic celebration of life and love and diversity and hope. Come one, come all, and bring your kiddos.

After the reading, there will be a short Rock-n-Roll drag celebration performance. I want to shout to the world so that all of Wadsworth will be able to hear that we are standing up to the bigotry, the oppression, the hate, and the violence, and that we are coming together in love and power to say together in one voice that the targeting of the LGBTQIA+ community will no longer be met with silence and will no longer be ignored.

Come share this wonderful introduction of humanist philosophy that is accessible to the young as she reads “Elle the Humanist,” a book written by a nine-year-old girl and her father who were tired of answering all of the commonly-asked questions about being the only humanists in a very conservative town.

And then we will rock the square with a Rock-n-Roll celebration of drag and life’s beautiful diversity. Diversity is strength. Let it be ours on March 11.

Many thanks to all the local community businesses that have partnered with us and sponsored refreshments, stickers, T-shirts, raffle table items, services, and have helped us make this a huge opportunity to speak up and speak out for those in the crosshairs of the hateful among us.

Proceeds will be donated to the survivors of the Club Q tragedy and a local LGBTQ charity, B. Riley House, in the names of the five victims of the Club Q nightclub massacre, so that their memories will live on in the fight for human equality.

Hosted by Aaron Reed and Krista Jo Reed.
