Recalling George Orwell’s 1984 and Allan Moore’s V for Vendetta: De-mystifying – and Stopping - Creeping Totalitarianism

(And America’s Un-elected, Globalist, Oligarchic, Sociopathic, Robber Baron, Multimillionaire Elites that are Perennially in Power)

On the surface, the coronavirus emergency has nothing in particular to do with Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. What’s obvious is that Donald Trump’s unhinged bluster and inaction let the pandemic get a lethal jump on the United States, people are dying while huge numbers of lives are in jeopardy, and quick drastic steps are imperative. Yet at the same time, the differences between what Biden and Sanders are advocating have enormous implications for what could be done to curb the deadly virus in this country.

Trump is moving in the direction of another upper class New Yorker who also became president in an era of extreme crisis. It’s time for some “bigly” Federal government action - again.

Facing a global pandemic, America’s very existence hasn’t been this threatened since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s administration confronted the Great Depression and World War II. The coronavirus is challenging the USA with a double whammy that combines both dangers: Economic collapse and an invasion causing massive loss of life. To combat these twin perils requires a response on a par with Roosevelt’s New Deal and the Allied war effort against fascism.

BANGKOK, Thailand -- High on hope, Americans and other foreigners have
arrived selling satellite imagery, financial services, grow lights and
other products to profit from Thailand's recently legalized medical
marijuana before Thais figure out how to do it themselves.

Foreigners are excitedly gathering at cannabis networking events in
Bangkok and elsewhere in this Southeast Asian nation, spouting sales
spiels and describing the most fantastic things since seedless joints.

They are also unraveling Thailand's newly created tangle of cannabis
laws to find loopholes and ways to squeeze money from weed.

Medical marijuana became legal in 2019. Recreational use did not and
still includes imprisonment.

As a result, the current investment rush is toward niche
infrastructure for government-controlled medical research and
production.

Mom Bomb tile

Mom Bomb supports moms in need through a portion of proceeds from bath bomb product sales, along with generous donations. We would like to introduce our latest mom. Meet Jordan, a single mother who had recently lost her job and was desperate for childcare for her 3-year-old son. She did not want to have to pull her son out of daycare while she was searching for a new job or transitioning into her new position, as she did not have anyone else to take care of her son. Being a single parent is difficult enough on a daily basis. When an unexpected event occurs like losing a job, it really throws a wrench in things.

Jordan is a hardworking mother. When she had nowhere to turn, she reached out to Mom Bomb. We jumped in to help Jordan, as we understand that unstable cycle of trying to figure out how to secure a new job while trying to maintain a child in daycare without an income. We were able to connect with the daycare that Jordan’s son was already enrolled in. We asked to provide childcare services. We were able to help her with three full weeks of childcare for her son, taking a huge weight off of her shoulders while she settles into her new position.

Details of call to action

Ohio immigrants, detained people and family members, lawyers, and grassroots leaders have four demands of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies/courts to protect incarcerated people and immigrants from COVID-19.

1) Immediately and dramatically reduce the number of people in Ohio jails and prisons, including (but not limited to) immigration detainees;

2) Suspend deportations, immigration arrests, and in-person ICE and USCIS appointments;

3) Close the Cleveland Immigration Court, except for detained bond hearings conducted remotely; and

4) Ensure inmates have access to free soap, hand sanitizer, health care, and phone and video calls.

I am prepared under my constitutional duty to recommend the measures that a stricken Nation in the midst of a stricken world may require.…

The only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance….

Forget all the bad press.

Forget that Donald Trump has completely mismanaged the Coronavirus pandemic.  ( https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=873866223038639&id=261478257610775 )

Forget that his infamous incompetence, narcissism and greed have left so many dead and dying.  That he’s using the crisis as cover to assault Social Security and Medicaid while taking food from the poor and homeless.  That he’s turned the stock/oil/gas markets into yo-yos while protecting his resorts, personal investments and fellow fat cats.  .

None of that will ultimately matter.

The urgent need for a vaccine

Public health experts say that if the COVID-19 epidemic is not successfully contained, it could become a global pandemic, perhaps spreading to 80% of the world's population. With a 1% mortality rate, this would mean that 70 million people would die of the disease. With a 2% mortality rate, the total number of deaths would be twice that number, 140 million people. Comparable numbers of people have died in the tragic wars and pandemics of the past. There is a serious danger that it might happen again.

Perhaps the best way to avoid such a tragedy would be to quickly develop an inexpensive and effective vaccine against the COVID-19 virus, and to distribute it very widely, free of charge, with the support of government funds. The most promising techniques for doing so, in my opinion, are the methods of monoclonal antibodies and gene-splicing.

Monoclonal antibodies

10. Recognizing that a problem that has grown severe in other countries could grow severe in the United States would require thinking of the United States as existing in the same world, susceptible to the same forces, as everyone else. A willingness to recognize that would have led to earlier action and wiser action more coordinated with the rest of the world.
