Windmills

Among his many actions on Monday in his first day as U.S. president, Donald Trump ordered a “temporary withdrawal” of any new federal leasing of the Outer Continental Shelf for new offshore wind projects.

As Reuters reported, Trump “suspended new federal offshore wind leasing pending an environmental and economic review, saying windmills are ugly, expensive and harm wildlife. ‘We're not going to do the wind thing. Big, ugly windmills. They ruin your neighborhood,’ he said. Without providing evidence, he said offshore wind projects were behind an increase in whale deaths off the U.S. East Coast in recent years.”

New York State and other states have embraced offshore wind. As its governor, Kathy Hochul, declared in her “State of the State” address a week earlier, “We recommitted to reducing carbon emissions with offshore wind off the coast of Long Island.”

Thank goodness that our heroes in Congress and the Supreme Court have courageously acted to end the scourge of that nefarious Red Chinese conspiracy, TikTok. This evil computer program was designed to mesmerize, corrupt and mislead America’s youth. Not since the wickedness of Dr. Fu Manchu have we seen such a grave threat to the American Republic or Free World. Our children are becoming little Manchurian Candidates thanks to the sinister mind-benders at TikTok. The Yellow plague is upon us – in full force. We thought that Covid was an evil Chinese plot brewed up in secret labs in Wuhan. But that was nothing compared to the terror of TikTok. Imagine tens of millions of young Americans entranced by the silly bugger shenanigans of other teenagers on TikTok. Or the profound outrage of American fathers watching their nubile daughters perform sexy dances on it. I’ve been to the town of Hamlin, Germany, where the notorious pied piper led its teenagers off to servitude. Do you think the Chinese have not read about the Pied Piper? And it’s not just TikTokery. The Red Chinese have been spying on us for decades. I’ve seen some of it.
People's March We've Got This

A couple hundred people gathered at Goodale Park Saturay afternoon, January 18 for a rally and march to the Ohio Statehouse.

See video here.

The organizers stated the message: "This is our time. Our time to make it clear: we will not be pushed aside, ignored, or silenced. On January 18, we march together—as women, as LGBTQIA+ individuals, as BIPOC communities, as immigrants, as allies. We stand united to demand a world where equality is not a threat, but a reality.
WE MARCH BECAUSE: Every person deserves a life free from fear and filled with opportunity. Our LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC siblings deserve the freedom to love, live, and be their true selves without discrimination or threat of safety.
Immigrant families have the right to safety, dignity, and respect, without fear of losing their homes or loved ones. Women’s voices, bodies, and futures will be in OUR hands—not controlled by anyone else.
THIS IS OUR MOMENT. It’s not enough to hope for change. We are the change. Every step we take, every voice we raise, every hand we hold shows that we are ready to rewrite the future.

Following every Israeli war on Gaza, numerous narratives emerge. Some claim victory for one side and defeat for the other, while others—knowingly or unknowingly—attempt to exploit the aftermath for their own purposes.

The latter is not always nefarious, as the humanitarian calamities resulting from Israel's actions are undeniable—especially as Israel and its allies often use aid to Palestinians as bargaining chips for political concessions or to exert pressure on the Strip and its leadership.

This dynamic often results in the exploitation of Palestinian suffering to raise funds, sometimes by organizations with high overhead costs, leaving independent researchers puzzled over the discrepancies between the funds collected and the funds allocated.

Additionally, Gaza lacks an independent commission to track all received funds and their usage, which leads to controversies and public accusations at times.
