The Bureau of Land Management is once again moving forward with plans to lease parcels in Wayne National Forest for fracking in southeastern Ohio. Public comments are now open on the agency’s latest environmental review document, called a Determination of NEPA Adequacy.
This is not a new fight. For years, people across Ohio have spoken out against fracking in Wayne National Forest through petitions, hearings, protests, letters, public comments, and lawsuits. Environmental groups previously won a lawsuit against BLM after a federal court ruled the agency failed to fully consider the environmental impacts of fracking these public lands.

The public comments deadline is June 17, 2026.

The Ohio General Assembly has unanimously passed legislation establishing a sweeping legal framework for carbon capture and underground storage in the state — a bill that gives companies the power to inject carbon dioxide beneath Ohio farmland, override the objections of property owners who refuse to participate, cap what those landowners can recover if something goes wrong, and ultimately transfer long-term liability for stored carbon dioxide to Ohio taxpayers.
Until today, HB 472 was a good, bipartisan bill that would waive ID and birth certificate fees for homeless Ohioans.
The NEW, SUBSTITUTE VERSION OF HB 472 would require photo ID for all mail-in ballots.
Many Ohioans would need to:
- Find a scanner
- Learn how to use a scanner
- Likely pay to scan and print a copy of their ID
- Trust the mail enough to mail a copy of their photo ID to their county Board of Elections along with their ballot
On Friday June 12, 2026, 24 foursome teams will compete against one another at Eta Nu Nu’s Swing for Scholars Golf Invitational at Champions Golf Course located at 3900 Westerville Road in Columbus, Ohio. Retired Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force Kaleth Wright is the event’s honorary chairman. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 am with an official start time exactly one hour later.
The day promises to be fun filled as golfers vie for the 1st place prize and bragging rights for this year’s tournament. Swings for Scholars is one of several Eta Nu Nu events that occur annually. It attracts golfers of all skill levels and walks of life. Onlookers will find the young, the older as well as those considered senior citizens traipsing the 208.473-acre golf course. Most will elect to get around on the golf carts while a few (very few) may choose to bravely navigate the 18 holes on foot. Competition is keen, yet there is a larger purpose that is not lost on the men of the Eta Nu Nu chapter of the illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and the tournament’s participants.
Artists, activists and community members gathered amongst the post-industrial landscape of the Milo-Grogan neighborhood to protest against the building of an enormous AI weapons manufacturing plant in Columbus.
The AI industry, the latest sink for capital investment at the expense of working class interests, is coming to central Ohio in a big way. Anduril industries, an autonomous weapons system manufacturer founded by self-identified radical zionist and Trump benefactor Palmer Luckey, announced in Jaunuary 2025 that it would be constructing its first hyperscale manufacturing facility, known ominously as “Arsenal-1”. Arsenal-1 will redefine the scale and speed at which autonomous weapons can be produced for the United States military and its allies and partners.

The DSA’s City Council Non-Cooperation Campaign focuses on creating non-cooperation resolutions in cities across Central Ohio, which pressure cities from cooperating with ICE and discriminating against trans individuals. This work includes attending city council meetings, providing testimony, canvassing, and working to create clear, concise language in resolutions and petitions, among other documents. In addition, they host educational events to explain this work and engage the public in how they can also pressure local councils to take action. Join campaign meetings on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays to get involved!

It’s bad enough the ultra-rich of Central Ohio made it far less affordable for many to live here. Now they are poised to implode the job market so to become even more wealthy – and potentially usher in the apocalypse.
This sounds insane. But don’t scoff, look who’s leading the insanity.
“Probably the largest [artificial intelligence] AI investment in the world will happen in Columbus,” said Les Wexner during an Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center board meeting last spring.
In the wake of this proclamation from Columbus’s scummiest of billionaires, local billionaire software tycoon and Ohio State alum Ratmir Timashev committed $200 million to recruit 100 AI start-ups to Central Ohio. He launched a start-up earlier this year to lead this recruitment called OH.io Ventures Inc. or “OH.io.”
“To make Ohio State, Columbus, and the Midwest the new high-tech mecca,” said Timashev, a Russian immigrant who came to America in 1992 to attend Ohio State, becoming a US citizen in 2024. Timashev, by the way, sits on the Columbus Partnership’s advisory council, the CEO-led coalition which shapes the region’s economic development.

Every year as part of the illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s Internationally Mandated Programs the Eta Nu Nu chapter in Columbus, Ohio, puts on a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross located at 995 E. Broad Street. Saturday, June 6, 2026, was no exception. From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm residents checked in at the second-floor welcome desk after which they were directed to a nearby station and prepped before being instructed to recline on an examination table whereupon a small area of one’s arm was cleaned and a sterile needle inserted.
The Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus (“CGMC”), central Ohio’s premiere TTBB vocal organization, is proud to announce its annual Pride Month concert, “Ancient Gods,” happening on June 13th and 14th, 2026 at the Riffe Center Davidson Theatre.
CGMC’s Artistic Director Brayton Bollenbacher says an interest in the intersection of music and mythology led to the theme for this year’s Pride show. “We wanted to play around with pop songs that reflect ancient mythology, so we are focusing on Greek, Roman, Norse and Egyptian gods in this concert. The chorus is singing about Rhinannon, Thor, Zeus, Persephone and many more.”
Bollenbacher says the songs will provide an adventure in music for audience members. “It's a great time to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the magical, mythical, and mystery of folklore from civilization's past.”
Members of CGMC are truly embracing the theme by donning period costumes. “The gays love to dress up, and our singers are getting to wear togas, gladiator outfits and Grecian-inspired dresses. It's a fun time for us to put music to this fun time in human history,” Bollenbacher said.
