The big news is that the electronic pollbooks in Franklin County, Ohio (Columbus) provided by the vendor KnowInk crashed due to problems uploading data overnight, according to the Franklin County Board of Elections.
Thankfully all polling places had back-up paper pollbooks when I voted this morning. I was checked in the old-fashioned way.
There was some concern that paper sign-in would be slower, but due to record early voting the lines were nonexistent at the Near East side inner-city Ward 55 at mid-morning.
Election integrity activists, including myself, generally favor paper pollbooks over electronic “black box” pollbooks. For one, it is much easier to match your signature with a pen and paper than with a stylus, which might cause a challenge by election workers. Electronic pollbooks are easily hackable, can be programmed with incorrect information that only shows up Election Day, and often go down at inopportune times – like today.
Released in time for the election, Fish in a Barrel is an exposé of how the NRA’s history of alleged campaign violations have stymied popular efforts to make even modest reforms on access to firearms, despite hundreds of mass shootings in the United States over the past two decades. The NRA’s electoral enterprise ended up being gamed by Russian agents of influence in the 2016 election, as detailed in the 2019 U.S. Senate Finance Committee report: The NRA & Russia: How a Tax-Exempt Organization Became a Foreign Asset.
“As mass shootings have continued, the NRA obstructs any effort at reform to prevent future massacres. It’s angering watching politicians tweet ‘Thoughts and prayers,’ then do nothing to stop it from happening again,” says director John Wellington Ennis. “But when I learned that the NRA had become a Russian asset while working to elect Trump, I knew I had to do something.”
Less than two weeks to go until Election Day – what can you do?
Begin by reading Greg Palast’s How Trump Stole 2020: The Hunt for America’s Vanished Voters and then go out and stop the theft.
Not only is Palast one of our premier investigative reporters he is also a great storyteller, and the best part, the stories are all factual.
This latest tome reads like a rogue’s gallery of real crime. Because they are rogues and they committed real crimes.
Palast came to notoriety in 2000 when he revealed the illegal voter purges in Florida that cost Gore the election. Back then he focused on Governor Jeb Bush and Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris. In the new book he stalks, rightly, the likes of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and documents in detail how he helped rig the election he ran against Stacey Abrams in 2018. Kemp used his power as Secretary of State to purge 665,677 voters, overwhelmingly Democrats.
Now Palast spells out the big purge states of 2020: Ohio with 432,000 axed from the voting rolls; North Carolina with 576,534 purged; Arizona with 258,000; and Wisconsin with 99,000.
Here’s the deal:
If you’re a Green, voting in a purple swing state, preparing to vote for Howie Hawkins… how about asking a Dem in a safe state to vote green while you vote blue?
If you’re a Dem, voting in a safe blue state, preparing to vote for Joe Biden… how about asking a Green in a critical swing state to vote blue while you vote green?
How about we at last use the Electoral College to end the circular firing squad and get the best of both worlds
Preventing a Trump dictatorship in 2020 will ultimately hinge on how well we protect this election from stripped voter rolls, trashed ballots, armed intimidation, insider manipulation, deleted ballot images, a Supreme Court coup, and so much more.

macho cult leader can’t seem a mere mortal.
As a dictator-to-be, Trump may be done.
He’s the second White Supremacist president brought down by a virus he helped spread. He’s the second mobster-in-chief desperate for a pardon to stay out of prison.
If the Election Protection movement continues to fight, the election Trump has planned to steal or ignore may now be beyond him. Shy of staying in the White House, only a Mike Pence pardon can keep Trump out of the Big House.
He’s a morbidly obese 74-year-old, precisely the COVID’s favorite demographic.
His Evangelical Death Cult loves his rapist, mobster self as a Lordly trickster, sent down to shutter the feminist uterus and shoot infidels of color.
Both Britain’s Boris Johnson and Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro got through the virus. Both were weakened. Neither faced an election 33 days away.
Trump could survive.
New information reveals that the Election Administrator in Shelby County, TN, manipulated the bids for a new voting system to favor Election Systems & Software (ES&S). The administrator, Linda Phillips, increased competitors' bids by millions of dollars. She also increased the bids for hand-marked paper ballot (HMPB) voting systems by millions of dollars to make ballot-marking device touchscreens (BMDs) look more competitive by comparison.
The Election Commission thought they were looking at the actual bid numbers presented by 3 vendors (ES&S, Hart InterCivic, and Dominion Voting Systems), but they actually only saw Phillips' manipulated numbers.
Reverend Doctor T. Anthony Spearman found himself in an unusual dilemma. He was greatly worried about private, for-profit commercial entities secretly coding voting machines. His concern was expected since he is a member of the Guilford County Board of Elections in North Carolina, representing the most populous area of the state, including the city of Greensboro.
On behalf of the North Carolina State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Spearman made a public request for information to all 100 counties in the state asking 31 questions centering around who was programming the voting machines in each county.
His August 24, 2020 letter states: “We are determined to protect the polls during the upcoming election. We are in unchartered times and we look forward to working with our County Boards of Elections, the state agency charged with overall responsibility for the administration of the elections to assure this election cycle is executed with integrity and everyone’s vote is counted and protected.”
The Project focuses on the prevention and deterrence of vote tampering via corrupted election machine software.
In 1787, when he left Independence Hall in Philadelphia at the close of the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin was asked whether we had a republic or a monarchy. He responded: “A republic, if you can keep it.”
The United States Department of State observes elections around the world with international election observers. After a foreign election, the State Department either certifies the election was a free and fair election or refuses to make such a certification.
